Bogorodica – Evzoni

The main North Macedonia–Greece crossing and the summer gateway to Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and Pieria. The current bottleneck is on the Greek (EU) side: the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) has been slowing passport processing, and exit queues toward Greece can reach two hours on peak July–August weekends. Entry back into North Macedonia is usually much quicker.

EES applies on the Greek (EU) side of this crossing — non-EU travellers may be fingerprinted and photographed, which is the main cause of long summer exit queues here.

Tip

Dojran is the alternate crossing into Greece if Bogorodica is heavily congested. Cross overnight or early morning in peak season.
