HOW TO READ THIS

Two numbers, one barrier

Each country reports the queue at its own terminal, so a crossing has two figures — one for the traffic leaving, one for the traffic arriving. Read the one pointing where you are going.

A blank is not a clear road

We publish what the sources publish, and nothing else. Where one has reported no figure, the row says so instead of guessing — we never estimate a wait.

Read every hour, all season

The feeds are fetched on the hour and every figure carries the time we read it. That stamp is at the top of the page, and it is the newest of the feeds behind the board. It says the last read ran. It does not say every source answered it.

No accounts, no adverts, no cookies

Nothing here makes you sign in, and no page sets a cookie. Tell us if our times are right — every page that publishes one has a feedback form.

We made this site for ourselves first and foremost — and therefore for you. Selfish, we know. But we were tired of scrolling half the web for one piece of border information before every trip. That’s how Balkan Borders was born: out of necessity and selfishness.
